My Visit to Ukraine: A Critical Mission for Global Security
I was in Ukraine about a week ago which just happens to be a country of such interest over the world and has been the center of international attention for a long time now. It was my job to go as a representative of the United States and to be able to see with my own eyes the situation on the ground and to make a statement of our nation’s commitment to the support of Ukraine in the continuous struggle.
While visiting with officials and the public I was quite impressed by their strong determination not to be defeated. Their fearless resolve and power of the masses were overwhelming to me. The sense of national unity caught my eye. On the one hand, it is indeed the nation which longs for peace and sovereignity, at the same time, it defended against aggression with an iron will.
What I had in mind was to obtain through my fact-finding tour first-hand information and understanding from key Ukrainian officials and citizens so as to be able to share it with my counterparts, particularly with House Speaker Johnson. I strongly think it is very much necessary that our top policymakers fully understand the magnitude of Ukraine’s issues and how they will affect the U.S. and the whole world.
As soon as I get back I am planning to have an open and straight talk with Speaker Johnson. I will stress out to him not only the problem that Ukraine has, but the fact that the regional stability as well as the global order is in danger. I am firmly convinced that Ukraine’s continued support is not only a moral but also a strategic priority for the U.S. and its allies.
During the next few days, I will work very hard on a whole view of how we are going to help Ukraine. This should not only embrace military backing but also finance and civil aid. We should mutually agree to protect democracy and borders against the unfair aggression by our would-be allies.
I recommend every one of us to watch how the situation in Ukraine unfolds, educate ourselves and do our utmost to keep the peace in Ukraine. We have to overcome large obstacles but we must be confident that through cooperation and will commitment to the tasks ahead we will make the world a safer and less violent place.
Positively, I promise to relay the American people with our part on Ukraine and safeguarding our national interests. We are in this together, and hence, we can make a difference in the world by maintaining the standards we are known for.
